Perú – The Inca Trail
The following Itinerary can be done alone or as part of a bigger Peru Adventure. Additional trips to Lake Titicaca and/or the Amazons also available!
Day 1 – Morning transfer to the Sacred Valley at Km 82, (approximately 2,200 mt asl/ 7,200 ft asl) staging area for Inka Trail by the Urubamba River. Hike to Wayllabamba (3,000 mt asl/ 9,900 ft asl +/-) for about 5 hours. Overnight.
Day 2 – After breakfast we start the most challenging day, slowly climbing for about two and a half hours to Llulluchapampa. We then continue for about two more hours to the first pass of Warmihuañusca (4,200 mt asl/13,860 ft asl +/-). Then we start descending to Pakaymayu Valley ( 3,500 mt asl/ 11,550 ft asl +/-) where we overnight.
Day 3 – Today will be a great day of walking along portions of the original Inka Trail. We will visit Runkaracay, and then climb to Runkaracay Pass (3,950 mt asl/13,035 ft asl +/-) where we have amazing views of the Urubamba and Vilcabamba mountain ranges. We continue with visits to the Inka sites of Sayakmarca, Phuyupatamarca and Wiñayhuayna ( weather permitting) at 2,600 mt asl/ 8,580 ft asl+/-, here we overnight.
Day 4 – Very early breakfast. Hike to Inti Punku (Gate of the Sun), from here we have the most spectacular view of Machu Picchu and surrounding area; we plan to arrive here at sun up. Then, we descend to the citadel for a guided visit. Afternoon descent to Aguas Calientes, where we take the train to Ollantaytambo (or Cusco) from where our busses will return us to Cusco Hotel.
Space on Inka Trail is limited and non refundable, we shall confirm on a first come basis.

-Pick up from hotel and transportation by bus to Km. 82

-Meals: 03 Breakfasts, 03 lunches, 03 dinners
-Camping equipment: 2 person large tent and mats, cooking tent, dining tent, tables, chairs, first aid kit. Porters carry camping equipment, cooking items, food. Extra porter to carry personal gear available at extra cost.
-Bus to Aguas Calientes, Backpacker train to Cusco. Transfer train station to hotel.
DOES NOT INCLUDE: Lunch in Aguas Calientes, Tips to guides and porters and extras.
PASSENGER MUST BRING :Original passport, Sleeping bag (available for rental), Water bottle, Insect repellent, Sun block, Sun glasses, Hat, Basic clothes change, Flash light, Rain coat, Personal prescription if any.
