Italy – The Classics Trip
On this trip, we will be arriving first in Venice to visit St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace along with the Bridge of Sighs, and then on to the islands of Murano and Burano, as well as drink in the sights (with some Merlot o Refosco wines of course!).
After taking in all we can of Venice, we travel south to Florence and spend our days there visiting the Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo della Signoría, the Uffizzi Gallery, and of course the Accademia to see the David.
As we say goodbye to the David, we travel on to Pisa for some Leaning Tower action and then on to Naples and Sorrento for some authentic Italian pizza from those that invented it. In the morning we get on a ferry to the Isle of Capri to visit the grotto (weather permitting) as well as the city.
Then, we are off to Pompeii and Herculaneum to visit the ruins and see with our own eyes what has been there for almost 2 Millenia.
Rome is our last stop on this trip. Rome, where we will explore all the greats: the Piazza Nettuno, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, Villa d’Este, the Vatican, as well as much more.
